Bonhams is set to showcase a remarkable collection of rare motorcycles at the Autumn Stafford Sale, held alongside The Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show. This two-day event features over 300 motorcycles, highlighting outstanding craftsmanship, rarity, and historical significance.

Featured Highlights:
- c.1938/1939 BMW RS M255 Kompressor: An ex-works Grand Prix racing motorcycle, one of only seven surviving examples. Estimated at £250,000 – 350,000, it’s a significant piece of pre-war racing history, famously ridden by Georg Meier during his 1939 Isle of Man Senior TT victory.
- 1928 Brough Superior SS100 Alpine Grand Sport: Known as the world’s first ‘superbike’, this iconic machine is estimated at £140,000 – 180,000 and comes with a detailed history, freshly available after over 40 years in single ownership.
- 1913 Flying Merkel 995cc Twin Seventy-one 471: Once owned by motorcycle legend Bud Ekins, this historical bike is estimated at £150,000 – 200,000 and features advanced suspension and ball-bearing motors.
- 1974 Ducati 750SS: One of only 24 delivered to the UK, this meticulously restored motorcycle is estimated at £140,000 – 170,000.
- 1936 Vincent-HRD 998cc Series-A Rapide: The oldest surviving example of this model, estimated at £240,000 – 280,000, made its debut at the 1936 Olympia Motorcycle Show.
The auction will also feature a rare collection of 52 motorcycles from a single family, carefully stored and now available for the first time in years.
